Airport pat-down
DENVER — The Tenth Circuit rejected an emotional distress claim brought by a woman who says she was forced to pull her pants down and remove a feminine hygiene pad after Transportation Security Officers at the Tulsa International Airport were unable to identify an object in her groin area during a pat-down. Although the woman claims to have had panic attacks as a result of the search, the appeals court said the woman’s distress was not sufficiently “severe,” given that she continued to fly several times a month for her work following the incident.
