Ups and downs for Boeing investors
CHICAGO — Boeing shareholders won and lost in Illinois federal court Tuesday in two lawsuits over safety problems with the 737 MAX. One class of investors was able to secure an order that the company must amend its privilege log, which they said was riddled with boilerplate descriptions and improper privilege claims. Another, copycat lawsuit was dismissed however because it was brought by a firm expressly formed to pursue claims that two investment funds assigned to it, but never itself bought or sold any Boeing stock, so it lacks standing to sue.
