Off With Blago’s Law License, Group Cries

CHICAGO (CN) - The group that disciplines attorneys has asked the Illinois Supreme Court to suspend former Gov. Rod Blagojevich's law license.

Blagojevich is currently awaiting sentencing after being convicted of attempting to sell the U.S. Senate seat vacated by President Barack Obama. These allegations led the Illinois Legislature to impeach Blagojevich as governor in 2009.

Blagojevich's lawyers have until Oct. 11 to respond to the request from the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. Blagojevich has been an attorney in Illinois since 1984, but hasn't practiced law since before joining Congress in 1997.
