WASHINGTON - The United States sued to block GrafTech International's $308 million acquisition of the 8.1 percent of Seadrift Coke it does not already own; GrafTech is a major producer of graphite electrodes, and Seadrift produces petroleum needle coke, the primary component of the electrodes, in Federal Court.
