California Sues 3M on Tape

FRESNO (CN) - 3M deceives consumers and falsely advertises its packaging tape as wider than it is, the State of California claims in Superior Court.

The state demands $2,500 per violation, claiming 3M sells 1.88-inch-wide tape as 2-inch tape; 1.41 inch as 1½ inches; 0.94 inch as 1 inch; and .71-inch as ¾-inch.
