SAN DIEGO — Sean McManus and Jason Schrock pleaded guilty to misappropriating public funds and stealing more than $500,000 each in connection with the A3 Charter School scheme that defrauded California out of $50 million in education funds. The defendants are assisting the state in the return of more than $210 million.
