Episcopal, not secular, dispute

RICHMOND, Va. — A Virginia trial court should not have resolved an Episcopal priest’s defamation claim against a bishop, ruled an appeals court, because the claims did not involve solely secular matters. Courts must abstain from adjudicating religious disputes.
