Former FBI agent indicted
OAKLAND — A federal grand jury indicted a 54-year-old former FBI special agent with cyberstalking, witness tampering and obstruction of a criminal investigation by bribery related to a reported series of unwanted romantic and intimidating advances he made toward a first-year law student. The Justice Department says the former agent, who worked for the FBI for 12 years, bought the victim a $17,000 engagement ring to try to convince her to enter a sham marriage so she wouldn’t have to testify against him.
