Man Says Bosses Fired Him & Wife|For Deluded Belief That He’s Gay

ATLANTA (CN) - A married counselor and program director claims his bosses fired him for their deluded belief that he is homosexual, and told him they did it to maintain "a more godly atmosphere within the agency." After they fired him, they fired his wife, Joseph May says in his federal discrimination claim against the O'Gilvie Carrington Center.

After the Center fired him, May says, an ex-boss wrote him a letter calling him a "fag," telling him the defendants "hate gays," and threatening to "tell everyone else about his homosexual lifestyle."

After they fired him and he filed discrimination charges with the EEOC, the defendants fired his wife, May says. He and his wife demand punitive damages. They are represented by Leonard Danley Sr. of Douglasville, Ga.
