WASHINGTON (CN) - Seals and sea lions may be killed or harassed by rocket and missile launches at California's Vandenberg Air Force Base and Alaska's Kodiak Launch Complex according to authorizations by the Commerce Department.
Also, the department is accepting public comment on five years of port construction in Alaska likely to disturb the beluga whale, harbor seal, harbor porpoise and killer whale. If passed, the rule will allow disruption of migration, breathing, nursing, breeding, feeding or sheltering. Click here for details and other new regulations and notices.
