Oats, and other things
CHICAGO — A federal court in Illinois dismissed a fraud class action against Quaker Oats, which sells a Simply Granola product that the consumers argued was misleadingly labeled. The box lists “oats, honey, raisins and almonds” under the words “Simply Granola,” but the product does not contain solely these ingredients; according to the court, no reasonable consumer would expect the product to contain only those ingredients, if only because no qualifier such as “100%” precedes the list of ingredients.
