ABERDEEN, Miss. — A Mississippi federal court issued $17,324 in sanctions against the town of Maben, which “inexplicably” failed to respond in any way to the court’s request for its officials to respond to a former clerk’s request for attorney fees and costs requested. Because the town has been repeatedly late to reply to court orders and frequently has missed deadlines, the reasonableness of the ex-clerk’s requests is considered “confessed.”
